About Daebak Map
대박지도 · A daily map game about Korea
Daebak Map is a free daily game. Every day you get five places in South Korea: cities, palaces, museums, K-drama filming spots, K-pop hometowns, songs, fairy tales and islands. Tap the map where you think each place is. The closer you are, the more points you get.
How to play
- Read the clue and tap the map to drop your pin. Use + and − to zoom.
- Press Lock in to see the answer, your distance and your score (0–100).
- Stuck? Show the area highlights where the answer is, but that question then scores 70 points at most.
- After five places you get a rank, from Nageune (wandering stranger) to Jangwon (top scholar of the royal exam), and a result you can copy and share.
- New places appear every day at midnight in your own time zone.
What the words mean
Each answer gets a seal: Daebak (대박) = Awesome, Jjang (짱) = Great, Aigoo (아이고) = Oops, Heol (헐) = Whoa, Eotteoke (어떡해) = Oh no. The colors are obangsaek, the five traditional Korean colors: blue, red, yellow, white and black.
Learn Hangul as you play
After each guess you see the place name in Hangul, split into syllable blocks. Tap a block to see its letters, or press Listen to hear it. Romanization follows the official Revised Romanization of Korean. Turn on Hangul mode to see clues in Hangul only; read all five without peeking to earn the Hangul seal.
Facts and corrections
Each answer comes with a short note. We check them against public sources such as the Korea Tourism Organization, local governments, encyclopedias and news reports. If you spot a mistake, please email contact@daebakmap.com.
